Profile Summary
The role of the Analyst is to intensively support and assist the Strategic Solutions Group embedded in ECBD2 to work in tandem with the Global RMs and other client facing entities within Mizuho. Provide high value-add Corporate Finance analysis to the clients in order to improve client impact, deepen corporate relationships and maximize revenue opportunities for the bank.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support senior bankers on all pitch efforts and deal execution.
- Creating and implementing financial models in the origination, execution, and support of deals
- Preparing corporate finance analysis, including but not limited to: M&A, valuation, credit ratings, capital structure, and capital allocation analysis
- Conducting research, including but not limited to: collecting and analysing data on company financial statements, credit ratings, market trends, and macro trends
- Preparing presentation material in the origination, execution, and support of deals
- Coordinating with Clients and Mizuho Industry and Product Teams
- Support industry specialisation by tracking key developments & deals
- Create and maintain a strong network of contacts across the Mizuho group, maintain an active dialogue with industry counterparts
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Strong technical and financial modelling skills, the ability to construct a three-statement financial model of a company from scratch
- Relevant work experience in this field –within a Corporate /Investment Bank
- Fluency in the principles of corporate finance, including but not limited to: valuation, liquidity analysis, cash flow analysis, acquisition/divestiture analysis, ratings analysis, and capital structure analysis
- Experience in corporate credit analysis
- Proven track record in desktop analysis and strong technical skill set and ability to interpret and analyse corporate accounts
- Experience with company valuations
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills both internal to the bank and external towards customers; fostering team spirit and team work through supporting colleagues in their work
- Excellent leadership, team-management skills and the ability to motivate others
- Good verbal and written communication skills to build good relationships
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage time effectively
- University Degree
