Profile Summary

The EMEA New Product Committee (NPC), is a sub-committee of the EMEA Executive Committee (ExCo), and governs the implementation of new products and business initiatives regionally across Banking and Markets. As a New Product Governance Associate (Associate), you will play a critical role in ensuring robust governance and compliance for new product initiatives in line with with Local and Global internal policies and regulatory standards across the EMEA region while driving global alignment and process efficiency. You will combine analytical rigor with strategic collaboration, acting as a trusted partner with business units, corporate functions, and IT to drive an effective second line review, maintaining operational integrity, governance excellence, risk mitigation, and regulatory adherence. You will optimise governance workflows and enhance approval processes to uphold operational integrity and governance excellence. In doing so, you will drive global harmonisation of procedures and ensure alignment with industry best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor governance processes for new product approvals across EMEA, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with business units, corporate functions and IT to facilitate smooth governance workflows. Acting as a key point of contact for governance-related queries and escalations.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of new product proposals, assessing risk, compliance, and operational readiness.
  • Produce clear, concise, and executive-standard governance reports, analysis, and dashboards for senior management and committees.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and IT teams to ensure all conditions for product approval are met and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency in governance standards and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency improvements across regions.
  • Support training and awareness initiatives on governance requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of banking and markets products and associated risks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across regions and time zones.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with governance tools or workflow systems.
  • Prior experience in governance, risk management, or governance frameworks and regulatory environments within financial services (preferred).
  • Exposure to global alignment projects and process improvement initiatives (preferred).
