Profile Summary

 

We are seeking a Director to join our Infrastructure & Advisory platform in London, with responsibility for covering clients across the EMEA region with a particular focus on one of Digital Infrastructure, Transport or Utilities sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams covering client financing and advisory for solutions led strategic dialogue including capital and fund raising advisory, project financing, and project financing advisory across the EMEA region with particular focus on developing the infrastructure advisory and financing business in EMEA in partnership with other regions where Mizuho has significant presence. This role will drive strategic initiatives, foster elevated client dialogue and contribute to the growth of the business.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Client Coverage & Origination

  • Strong client network and C‑suite connectivity across corporates, governments, and financial sponsors.
  • Demonstrated, market‑leading expertise in at least one core infrastructure sector — digital infrastructure, transport, or utilities — with a strong record of delivering strategic transactions in that area.
  • Originate and drive business development and execution of strategic advisory and financing opportunities across infrastructure sectors with a particular focus on either the digital infrastructure, transport or utilities sector.
  • Partner with country coverage and sector teams across the bank to deliver integrated, cross-product client solutions.
  • Partner with Greenhill and Augusta to develop advisory business opportunities and drive mandates.
  • Identify emerging themes and market opportunities within the selected sector to drive advisory mandates and financing opportunities
  • Cross-market and cross-sell where possible including products from other areas of the Bank

 

Execution

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, with proven and live C-suite access to clients, offering strategic guidance and innovative solutions to address complex challenges and opportunities, particularly with regards to Advisory services and fund-raising products related to asset development
  • Lead execution of complex advisory mandates including but not limited to infrastructure acquisition financing, project and structured finance advisory, capital raising.
  • Oversee financial analysis, modelling, and valuation, ensuring best-in-class transaction advice.
  • Manage negotiations and key workstreams with clients, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure high-quality materials are prepared for internal committees, client boards, and external stakeholders.

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership to transaction teams, ensuring efficient execution and high professional standards.
  • Mentor and develop junior bankers, supporting career growth and technical skills development.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the EMEA Infrastructure & Advisory platform, representing the bank in industry forums, conferences, and client events.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

 

  • Proven track record in originating and executing high-profile, complex transactions across EMEA
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure investment banking, advisory and project finance.
  • Strong client network and C-suite level connectivity across corporates, governments, and financial sponsors.
  • In-depth knowledge of the infrastructure investment landscape in either transport, digital assets or utilities.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-border, multi-disciplinary teams.
