Profile Summary

 

The Finance department comprises several teams—including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and Taxation—and is responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial performance results and management information to support the business. The IT Finance team manages IT cost accounting and reporting across both RTB and CTB spend, and serves as a strategic business partner to the EMEA Technology teams.

 

This role is focused on maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of key accounting and reporting activities in line with Head Office / EMEA accounting policies and reporting standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong commercial mindset with a clear emphasis on business partnering.

 

The ideal candidate to possess good numerical and analytical abilities, a good understanding of IT cost accounting and high level understanding of IT Portfolio Management, strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work effectively within a team environment, maintaining a constructive, results-oriented approach.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Act as EMEA IT Business Partner and main contact for IT financial issues for the assigned IT area.
  • Take responsibility for the month-end process in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial results, which includes reviewing and validating journal entries, accruals/prepayments, investigating and resolving reconciliation breaks and financial discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance (Capex/Revex), identifying and communicating risks and opportunities.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and cost optimization.
  • Lead cost analytics and offer detailed explanations for variances against plan through comprehensive understanding of business and cost drivers.
  • Manage cost sharing agreements and SLAs with other Mizuho global entities.
  • Continuously seek process improvements and enhancements.
  • Review business cases for IT programmes and strategic initiatives, offering support for financial modelling requirements.
  • Oversee annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for the assigned IT area; assist with broader budget deliverables as needed.
  • Lead monthly financial reviews with IT Leads and PMOs for designated departments.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reports as requested by senior management.
  • Manage the monthly capitalisation process.
  • Supervise task management for offshore teams.

 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Ideally fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with relevant experience in IT Cost Accounting and Finance Business Partnerning
  • Strong Excel skills and good numerical and analytical skillsets
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail, good problem solving skills and a result oriented approach
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Experience of using ERP systems (ideally Oracle / Hyperion etc)
