Profile Summary
The Golden Source Delivery Manager is responsible for leading the upgrade of the bank’s reference data platform, ensuring the system continues to support key data domains such as instruments, issuers, ratings and legal agreements. The role requires strong project delivery capability, coordination of cross‑functional teams and vendors, and an understanding of reference data processes within financial markets. The Delivery Manager will oversee planning, execution, testing and change management to ensure a smooth and successful transition into BAU operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Delivery Manager leads the effort to upgrade a reference data system, which is a critical component in managing and maintaining essential data (such as assets, issuer, ratings or legal agreements) across an organization. This role requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge of reference data systems, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
Project Planning and Initiation:
- Develop a comprehensive project plan outlining the scope, timeline, resources, and budget.
- Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Identify stakeholders and establish communication plans.
Team Management:
- Assemble a cross-functional project team, including IT, data management, and business representatives.
- Assign roles and responsibilities to team members.
- Facilitate regular team meetings and ensure effective collaboration.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor risk throughout the project and adjust plans as necessary.
Resource Management:
- Manage the project budget, ensuring that costs remain within approved limits.
- Allocate resources effectively and ensure that the project is adequately staffed.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns promptly.
System Upgrade Coordination:
- Work with technical teams and Vendor to ensure that the Golden source system upgrade is designed, developed, and tested according to specifications.
- Oversee data migration activities to ensure data integrity is maintained during the transition.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers if necessary.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Ensure that the upgraded system undergoes rigorous testing, including user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Address any issues identified during testing to ensure the system meets quality standards.
Change Management:
- Develop and implement a change management plan to ensure smooth adoption of the upgraded system.
- Provide training and support to end-users as needed.
Project Execution and Monitoring:
- Track project progress against the plan, adjusting as necessary to stay on schedule.
- Use project management tools to monitor performance, manage tasks, and report on progress.
Project Closure:
- Ensure all project deliverables are completed to satisfaction.
- Conduct a post-implementation review to capture lessons learned.
- Transition the upgraded system to operational teams for ongoing maintenance and support.
All work is to be undertaken adhering to existing project and department standards for documentation, security, testing and release management.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Experienced Reference data Project Manager/Business Analyst
- Experienced in Jira and Confluence
- Understanding of Financial products and lifecycle
- Some knowledge of Golden Source capability useful but not essential
- Test scripting and execution
- Great organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and escalate when necessary
- Ability to speak to stakeholders across business
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrable ability to innovate, support change and problem solve.
- Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance.
- Sound knowledge of the Banking Industry
